I have never met a person who didn’t wish their life to improve in some way. I mean, think about it- all the people you have met and spoke with, I’m sure they are striving for something in some way. Weather that be a better relationship, health, love etc.
Today, I met with an old friend and she was struggling with how and where to begin to make changes in her life. And this not knowing where to begin normally leads to not making any changes at all.
So, I spoke with her about creating affirmations (also known as mantra) The more committed we are to affirming what it is what we want and the changes that we want to happen, the more those desires become a swift part in our lives. With the commitment of affirmations, we begin to lay new pathways down in our minds and also begin to convince ourselves that it’s alright to have our deepest desires met. Once we decide it’s okay to have those needs met, we start to make the changes in our life more possible.
Mantras have been used around the world for thousands of years to achieve high levels of clarity, focus, and richness in life that most only dream of. When creating these mantras it’s important to know these key essentials:
1. Create a sentence or phrase that you would actually use.
2. State your affirmation in a positive way without focusing on what you wish to avoid
3. Use mantras as a declaration of what has already been manifested or created in your life (as if it already has been there)
4. Truly feel the mantra!
For me personally, one that really resonates with my soul is the affirmation: “I accept myself for where and I am right now; I create my own security”. This is one that I use personally and if you feel it calling to you to use- feel free to use it! Start with saying it as many times a day as you can. Remember, the more we state an affirmation the more it becomes embedded in our mind. And if wording comes out different then that is the natural way it was meant for you. There is no wrong or right way to doing these, but if you feel comfortable with what you are stating and feel the truth it was meant to be said that way.
I even go to the length of writing a mantra down and taping it to my water bottle. This helps infuse the water I am drinking with heightened intentions. Or you can tape it to your bathroom mirror, door, cabinets – Any place that you know you look so you are not only saying it to yourself, but also reading it as you continue your day. There are so many different mantras out there- If you need help with starting some here is a list to aid:
- I am abundant
- Be the change you wish to see in the world
- My life moves with grace
- All is well in my life
- I am peaceful with all my emotions. I love and approve of myself
- I take in and give out nourishment in perfect balance
- I accept all the pleasure life has to offer
- I am joy
- I trust in my intuition
